Franklin’s Rustic Woodland First Birthday Party

We recently celebrated our little baby turning one. And GOSH! It was such a bittersweet day! He is our baby and this “official” birthday party just sealed the deal. He’s growing.

We decided to have his party after Thanksgiving to make it easy on traveling guests, and we kept it small with just family, but we had such a great time!

I tried not to over-do it this time with too many baked goods, so I was sure to choose carefully. These S’mores Krispie Treats are TO-DIE-FOR! So, so good! Recipe coming to you soon. These were demolished.

To keep costs down, we had the party at home and I ended up using a bunch of decor from his room! Can you spot what I used? I also used some of our Christmas decor as well as the lanterns from Cal’s train birthday three years ago. See, husband! It pays to keep all of this stuff around! :)

I loved the look of these little S’more sticks and how they formed into a tee-pee. Super easy, tasty, and gave great height dimension. Plus, no mess!

And these little peanut butter and chocolate fudge logs were De-LISH and turned out SO cute! This was my first time ever making fudge, so if I can do it, so can you! Recipe coming soon.

When it came time for the cake, Franklin wasn’t quite sure at first…

So he had plenty of buds show him what to do.

And then he was sold. :)

As a treat to take home, guests were able to fill little paper bags with various types of trail mix (and any leftover goodies, too).

We had so much fun celebrating our little man. And when there’s a balloon on the ceiling, that’s all that matters… :)
